This weekend my wife enlisted me to do some "purging." We threw away a lot of junk, but in the process, unearthed some jewels. One item was a yearbook from my junior year in high school. It was the year I first got to know Charity, my wife.Of course, it was a great tradition to get as many people as possible to sign your yearbook. My new friend Charity was at the top of my list. I wanted to know what really thought of me. Here's what she wrote:
"Chris,
I'm glad I had Chem. Hon, (oops, I mean Algebra II Honors), with you this year... as well as American History Hon. I can never thank you enough for the food you gave Brent and I that one Wednesday night. You were a life saver!! I feel bad that you're hurting inside from Ms. Tanner, but if it cheers you up a little, I'll tell you this: If I didn't have a boyfriend, you'd be my first choice hunny. You have numerous qualities that make you different from any other guy. You are very special to me and I look forward to spending our 2000 school year together. keep up the awesome grades and use your brain... choose the good girls!
Love Ya,
Charity"
That's Charity at sixteen. I'm not so sure her boyfriend would have appreciated this little note. But it took no time at all for me to jump on the opportunity when they split the following year.

Well Chris... I would say that you took Charity's advice. You chose the good girl.
